Fernando was born and raised in McMinnville, Tennessee. He has one older brother, Chip, who is a musician. Spending much time working at his family's printing business, Fernando has grown up in and around the printing industry. Through-out his youth Fernando had an affinity for art and sports. He attended elementary school at Boyd Christian School and high school at Warren County High School from 1995-1999. At Warren County High he was a member of the golf team. Fernando later went on to attend Middle Tennessee State University between the years of 1999 - 2003. At MTSU he majored in Graphic Design and minored in Illustration. At college he joined the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, and was also a member of the Golden Key honor society and Gamma Beta Phi honor society. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2003 cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

After school, Fernando worked at his Father's printing business and worked freelance design from his home through Advent Marketing Solutions in Nashville, Tennessee. He was introduced to Wax Family Printing through a mutual acquaintance. He has been working in Graphic Design at Wax Family Printing since early 2006. Fernando was married to Terra Wielgus in April of 2007. Terra and Fernando met in college and had been dating since 2000. They had a son in October of 2008.

Outside of work, Fernando enjoys playing and collecting guitars, music, going to concerts, playing with his three dogs: Chaos, Zero, and Vader, painting, computers, football, movies, going out with friends, collecting concert posters, and working around the house.
